Jakarta, Otodiva – Honda resmi memperkenalkan New Honda WR-V di IIMS 2026 as a refresh for their entry-level SUV line. The main focus is quite clear, offers a fresher look, features that are increasingly relevant to daily needs, as well as price adjustments to make them more competitive for consumers who are entering the SUV segment for the first time.

This approach makes sense considering that the compact SUV market in Indonesia is increasingly crowded. Young consumers today don't just look at design, but also connectivity, ease of use, and value that feels real in everyday use. Honda is trying to answer this need through updates that are quite noticeable on paper.

Even so, This refresh also shows the WR-V's position which continues to play safely. There are no big leaps from the technical side, and some superior features are still locked in the top variant. It means, there is an increase, but still with the typical compromises of the entry SUV segment.

More Relevant Features for Urban Mobility

One of the main updates to the New Honda WR-V is in the interior and connectivity sectors. Audio display screen 10,25 inch is now available in all variants, complete with wireless smartphone connection and USB-C port in the front row. This addresses the needs of users who are increasingly dependent on mobile phones for navigation and entertainment.

For RS variants and above, Honda added paddle shifts which provide more control while driving, while the wireless charger is present in the highest variant. Functionally, These features make the WR-V feel more modern and not left behind rivals in its class.

However, this increase also showed the limits of Honda's strategy. Comfort features and more complete driving engagement remain the differentiators of the variant, not standard. For consumers who choose the E variant, the driving experience remains simple even though the appearance has been updated.

Attractive Value, but Not Without Compromise

In terms of price, Honda carried out a fairly aggressive repositioning. With a price tag starting from IDR 284 million to IDR 321 million for the highest variant, The WR-V is now easier to reach for first-time SUV buyers who are moving up from a hatchback or entry-level sedan.

The RS with Honda Sensing variant is the most complete option, especially with the presence of active safety features relevant for daily use in urban traffic. This is a significant plus, especially for young users with high mobility.

However, It still needs to be noted in terms of performance and character, The WR-V hasn't changed drastically. The engine and platform still rely on Honda's old formula which is known for being smooth and efficient, but less inspiring for those looking for more driving sensation.

The new Honda WR-V is finally a realistic refresh. More mature, more complete, and more competitive, but still play safe. Suitable for beginners in the SUV segment, although not the bravest in his class.
