At the event 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, Honda introduced two new models in the Yè Series electric car line for the Chinese market. Two newest models, GAC Honda GT and Dongfeng Honda GT, revealed for the first time at this event.
These two models are the flagship vehicles in the Yè Series line, designed to provide consumers with an innovative and fun to drive driving experience. Although both feature silhouettes “low & wide”, Each model carries a unique design that reflects the characteristics and image of its respective brand. The GAC Honda GT features a modern, technologically-smart, futuristic impression, while the Dongfeng Honda GT delivers emotional styling that evokes positive feelings towards future mobility.
In the cabin, Honda has designed a space that prioritizes driver and passenger comfort and engagement. Drivers can enjoy a sporty and enjoyable driving experience through the ergonomic cabin design. Meanwhile, The remote-focused main screen provides an immersive visual experience, creating a premium atmosphere for passengers.
Honda's electric car commitment

In addition to the launch of the GT model at the Shanghai Auto Expo 2025, Honda also announced its commitment to developing leading technologies in China in the fields of electrification and artificial intelligence. Collaboration with Momenta Global Limited, specializing in AI driver assistance technology, will help Honda integrate advanced navigation systems and enhance a safe and reliable driving experience.
Honda is collaborating with a number of technology companies in China to accelerate the development of smart electric vehicles. Together with Momenta Global Limited, Honda will integrate AI-based driver assistance technology that will allow the vehicle to operate without high-definition maps, enough with the destination set through the navigation system. This technology will be applied to future models to improve driving safety and comfort.
Honda will also adopt artificial intelligence technology from Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research Co., Ltd. (DeepSeek) to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable mobility experience. DeepSeek technology will be embedded in Yè's entire line of electric models and available as an over-the-air update (OTA) for Yè P7 and Yè S7 models that have been circulating in the market.
On the other hand, Honda is also collaborating with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) to develop a high efficiency battery platform, including the use of battery cells embedded directly in the vehicle body as well as the development of lithium-ion phosphate batteries (LFP) for the third model in the Yè line. All of these efforts are part of Honda's move towards carbon neutrality 2050. Honda is targeting a total launch 10 electric vehicle models in China, starting with e:NS1 and e:NP1 on 2022, as well as Yè P7 and Yè S7 on 2024. Honda is also committed to making electric vehicles inclusive 100% sales in China in 2035.
